AROUND THE WORLD IN 66 DAYS!! Ed Force One Back In Action For 2011

IRON MAIDEN, with their crew and many tons of equipment, will once again be boarding Ed Force One in February 2011 to fly 50,000 miles round the globe on their continuing mammoth Final Frontier World Tour, playing 29 shows and visiting 26 cities in thirteen countries across 5 continents with Bruce again in the pilot’s seat, and heading into more new Frontiers of uncharted Maiden territory!!!

The first show will be on Feb 11th in Moscow’s Olympic Stadium, after which the Boeing 757, which will have new designs to tie in with the new album and tour, will fly the band to Singapore and Indonesia for Maiden’s first ever shows there, before arriving in Australia to headline two arena dates and five Soundwave Festivals. Ed Force One then turns its attention briefly to the Northern Hemisphere with a first show ever in South Korea and two shows in Tokyo, before heading all the way across the Pacific, a journey which (believe it or not!) is 6660 miles for two shows in Mexico. An extensive series of stadium shows through five South American countries follows, including a first visit to Belem, Northern Brazil, and, via Puerto Rico, the band will play the final show on this leg of the tour in Tampa, Florida, USA on April 17th, exactly 66 days after Moscow! (full dates below)

Says Bruce, “We were taken aback by the fantastic reaction from everyone to Ed Force One during the 2008/09 World Tour. As our fans all know from the “Flight 666” film, which documented the trials and tribulations we underwent in order to get the whole project literally off the ground, the end result was well worth all the effort and complex logistics we had to deal with! The band and crew enjoyed themselves so much travelling that way, it seemed only logical to set up this part of The Final Frontier tour in the same way so we could get to see as many fans as possible all over the World, only this time we’re pushing the boundaries even further and going to more places Maiden has never been before… in true Frontier style!! We very much look forward to playing in Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea for the first time, as well as revisiting our fans everywhere else.

“The set list will be different to this year’s tour. Of course we will play more songs from the new album and some other recent material, but we will include a healthy dose of older fan favourites as we will be playing to so many new faces who we know will want to hear those songs live for the first time. We will cram into the plane as much of the production we used this year as is physically possible, including of course Eddie, and intend to replicate the spectacular light show in as many places as we are able. All in all it promises to be a fantastic trip for everyone!! So see you all soon”.

Since its release in August on EMI (UME in the US), “The Final Frontier” — the band’s 15th studio album – has proved their most successful chart album to date, registering the #1 sales chart slot in 28 countries around the globe; from Lebanon, Arabia and India in the East, to Canada in the West, New Zealand down South, throughout UK and Europe and across Latin America, as well as reaching No.1 in Billboard’s European, Tastemaker and Rock Charts, and No.4 in the USA, which is the band’s highest position ever there.

Having already played an extensive 25 date North American Tour and some selected European shows this year, Maiden will undertake a full European Tour in the summer of 2011. Some dates (as below) have already been announced but keep an eye on this site over the next few weeks and months for many more announcements.

Live Nation is proud to announce that The Killers will be performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Sunday, January 24, 2010 for their first ever show in Singapore.

The multi-platinum VMA Award-winning, Grammy-nominated band from Las Vegas, was formed in 2002 and blazed on the Indie scene in the year 2003 with their hit “Mr. Brightside”. The band consists of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitar), Mark Stoermer (bass) and Ronnie Vannucci (drums). Part of the post-punk revival movement, The Killers draw their influences from music styles of the 1980s. The Pumpkins proved it!! At first, my visit to Singapore for this concert was not intend to do any coverage. I was hoping that i can just sit back and relax while enjoying the music. but when we arrive at Fort Canning, the plan immediately changed. There was no “photographer tag” for us to do the coverage even. But for the sake of heavy metal, i did it.

It was 6.00 p.m when we arrive at the venue and i was so curious. Are we allowed to do “just a bit of photo” for my Malaysian metal fans since the security was very stritched on cameras at the door front. But with some discussion & toleration with the organizer, we manage to show to you this memorable event. Thank you to the generous organizer, you know who you are!

Some familiar faces from Malaysian Power Metal scenes are there to. Yes, these guys are the power metal die hard fan. Let get started! Firstly, i didn’t brought any pen nor notepad for this event. So this review shall based on my memory only. The stage was very impressive and the backdrop/props are exclusively brought by Helloween themselves for the tour from Germany, as i was told. Based on their current album Gambling With The Devil, the backdrop was very impressive!

Here are some of the setlist which i can memorized… Helloween , Soul Survivor, Time Marches On, As Long As I Fall, Tale That Wasn’t Right, Danni Loble Drum Solo, A King for 1000 Years, Eagle Fly Free, Bell Of 7 Hell, If I Could Fly, Dr. Stein, Perfect Gentleman, Where The Rain Grows, Power + Keeper of Seven Keys (medley) & Future World

Why i wrote this? it’s just a simple, fun, entertaining & intimate metal concert. Helloween is not just another metal band, the character are just meant to entertain the audience and the two way band and fan was very successful even the number of crowd are not as i expected. Thank you Mr. Deris & co for a very memorable evening!

Helloween In Singapore

October 26, 2007:

After a short breakfast session at KL Sentral, me, Benny and Jai Carbolic Smokeball started our journey to Johor Bharu. We took a rest at a hotel in Stulang, before entering Singapore at 5.00 p.m. At 9.00 p.m, Mustaine started the show with new single Sleepwalker from United Abomination. The crowd started to mosh when Mustaine started riffing with his Dean VMNT. The combination of Glen Drover, Shawn Drover and James Lomenzo is the best since Friedman, Menza and Ellefson era. Mustaine definetely proved that he’s a hell of a front man with his energetic performances. Classics tunes as take No Prisoner, Wake Up Dead and Skin o’ My Teeth was played non stop by them.

” It take more than my house and Lomenzo’s to burn than to stop us from playing in front of you lovely people” said Mustaine commenting about the fire tragedy in his hometown. this was followed by Washington Is Next. “I hope that you’ll know French” said Mustaine before starting A Tout Le Monde followed by Darkest Hour and Hangar 18. Encore for the night was a modified tunes of Holy Wars with some mixture of the Four Horsemen.

So here’s the full setlist:

1.0 Sleepwalker

2.0 Take No Prisoner

3.0 Wake Up Dead

4.0 Skin O’ My Teeth
